![]() DogThis is my version of the Dog. I have gone for a husky instead of a tradition looking dog face. The reason being that Husky's are more wolf like, this gives me a reason to put more detail into the fur. | ![]() PigThe Pig has a lot of fine detail mixed in with a couple of bold black patterns which gives a good contrast. | ![]() RatThis was a hard one as I found it hard drawing the main outline of the rat, but once i managed to pull that off the rest just flowed into place. |

![]() BullThe Bull/Oxen is a piece that I enjoyed making. The design is very symmetrical and the fine detail really draw in the audience. | ![]() TigerThe Tiger is one of my favourite pieces, as there is so much open space which is separated by the black stripes. As a result this flows well with the intricate patterns on the forehead and fur. | ![]() RabbitThe Rabbit saw me test out a couple new patterns and see how well they flow with the image. The plain white space around the mouth is acting like a trademark to this series of prints |
![]() DragonThe dragon was a hard one to create as I wanted it to be detailed so I packed in a lot of fine patterns. But since it was a mythical creature I didn't have a real reference to work off from. | ![]() SnakeFor the snake I chose to go for the cobra as the back spread gave me more to work off from, and the scales gave a nice symmetrical touch. | ![]() HorseFor the Horse I didn't want to overcrowd it with too many patterns as I wanted to show the difference between the patterns in the mane and the facial features. |
![]() RamThe Ram is very similar to the Bull in order to make it different I changed the direction of the horns and incorperated patterns in different directions. | ![]() MonkeyThe Monkey was a fun one to do as the open white areas gives the illustration some room to breathe. I feel the curved patterns work well with the structure of the face. | ![]() Roosterthe Rooster is one of two from my series of 12 Chinese Zodiac animals that I drew from a side view. If I were to draw it from a front view I would loose out on capturing the comb and the beak. With the side view I can express more on the feathers, comb and wattle with the image still being readable. |
